SAP Meta Domain Model

Domain Model
SAP-Siemens Integration

The SAP–Siemens Integration uses a common meta-domain model built on industry best practices. Both systems map their data to this model, ensuring consistent data elements across platforms. Fully customisable to your manufacturing processes, it delivers a seamless digital thread from PLM design to ERP financial closure, whether you use Teamcenter or SAP.

In Configure-to-Order (CTO), a general BOM is created in PLM and transferred to SAP with variant configuration logic. SAP then generates the final BOM based on specific customer orders for production. With our standardised interface, integration is fast to deploy for SAP S/4 Public and Private Cloud. Once set up, we refine the data model to include exactly what you need, in the right format.

FAQ's

Which Teamcenter and SAP versions support the SAP-Siemens Interface?

The interface supports SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA On-Premise, SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, and Siemens Teamcenter.

Are there predefined business scenarios that can standardize implementation?

Yes! Teamcenter includes starter packages that provide configuration for basic scenarios like product engineering and change management. Similarly, SAP offers Business Configuration Sets (BCs) that can be activated to deliver out-of-the-box configurations for key interface elements.

Which technologies are used to integrate SAP and Teamcenter?

The integration uses the T4ST component in Teamcenter and the PLMSI component in SAP, connected through REST protocols.

Are additional licenses required beyond standard Teamcenter and SAP S/4HANA or ECC licenses?

Yes! Separate licenses are required for both the T4ST and PLMSI components in addition to the core Teamcenter and SAP licenses.

Can the interface be configured to add functionality beyond the standard options?

Yes! A standard meta-domain model, collaboratively defined by SAP and Siemens, covers commonly used business process items such as parts/materials, bills of materials, change management, and routings. Additionally, extension fields can be used to define custom data fields for transmission between Teamcenter and SAP.

Is the interface being improved and further developed?

Yes! SAP and Siemens have established a partnership to enhance their collaboration and further develop the integration. Updates are always aligned between SAP and Siemens to ensure compatibility.
